Chris Sandler – Registered Osteopath
Chris has worked in the field of manual therapy for two decades. After completing five years of university education to become a registered osteopath he has undertaken further postgraduate training in a Dynamic Postural Model (DPM) that stems from the work of a Japanese medical doctor. Chris believes osteopathy provides a way forward for patients with complex and long standing issues of pain.
Chris practices:
- Osteopathy: soft tissue massage, muscle release techniques, joint mobilisation, manipulation, and if appropriate, dry needling in addition to exercise therapy and ergonomic advice.
- DPM: this postural model can be ideal for people with unresolved pain or multi regional problems; for example people with pain in two or three areas i.e. lower back pain and shoulder pain etc.
Chris believes each patient is an individual and subsequently every treatment is tailored to the individual’s needs. The objective of the treatment is to engage the body’s own sense of self-regulation and self-healing through a broad range of osteopathic techniques. On a personal note Chris is a father of two and a keen sportsman, often playing at an elite level. His love of surfing, sailing and tennis ensures he practices optimum health and nutrition on a daily basis.
